Below is a list of mind-body related resources that I have found to be helpful as a supplement to therapy. The list is not exhaustive and is not a substitute for therapy. Please check back for frequent updates.
1) My mom, Dr. Delahooke, is a pediatric psychologist who has a blog focused on the social emotional development of children. Dr. Delahooke uses a "bottom up" approach to better understand a child's individual differences and challenging behaviors with the idea that a child does well if they can.
2) The Marc Institute in Westwood offers classes and programs for those interested in learning more about mindfulness meditation. It is an affiliate of UCLA and offers both free and paid classes.
3) Insight LA is a mindfulness community located in West Los Angeles that offers classes for those interested in developing a continuous meditation practice.
4) Yoga Glo is an online based yoga program offering thousands of yoga and meditation practices in the comfort of your home. Yoga has been proven to bring balance and healing to the body through the calming of the parasympethic system.
